Senior Pastor Debbie Hutton

Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

It is certainly true that in every season of life we should ‘know’ who we are listening to!  Please allow me to introduce myself: I am Pastor Debra Bayse Hutton, but everyone calls me Pastor Debbie.

My husband, Butch, and I will soon be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary!  What a blessing my husband is; I certainly could not do what I am doing without him.  We have been blessed with two strong sons, their beautiful wives, and two amazing grandsons; Quinn, age 10, and Jax, age 9. God has been so good to us!
I would like to share a little about my spiritual beginnings. I was saved at the age of 5 or 6 and miraculously called by God at the age of 9.  I may be off at the exact age of these events, but I vividly recall those encounters with God to this day!  I grew spiritually and was active in our Baptist church in the Roanoke valley until our marriage. Then our family of three, with another on the way, moved to Henry county for 11 years.  It was there that I experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  I remember the life-changing miracles of God for me and in my family, and I stand in awe of what God has done for us!  LIFE WITH GREAT CHALLENGES IS THE BREEDING GROUND FOR SUPERNATURAL GROWTH IN THE SCHOOL OF FAITH!
The challenges were great, but God was greater!  I managed to complete four years of college at Averett University with a degree in education, middle-grade curriculum, with endorsements in learning disabilities and behavioral adjustment and remedial reading; all while holding down a part-time job, and managing house and family life.  At the same time Butch completed a two year degree in nursing science and worked full time.  We feel we have experience in acknowledging God’s mercy and grace and have a “certificate” in love commitment! (LOL)
After college graduation I taught school in Henry county before the Lord moved us back to the Roanoke Valley.  There He directed me to teach four years in the Roanoke county school system, while attending and faithfully serving in a teaching position at Salem Pentecostal Holiness Church, now Christian Life International PH Church.
Again, led by the Holy Spirit, I resigned the Roanoke county school position and followed Him without really knowing the exact next  step.  Within days an opportunity arose for me to open my own tutorial service, called One-To-One, in the basement of the Salem church.  Soon afterward the Lord again opened another door and I began working as the church secretary during the day and continuing to tutor students in the evening.
Our faithful God presented, in His timing, an opportunity for me to prepare myself through the IPHC Appalachian Conference offices in Dublin, Virginia to receive ordination as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  After that ordination I served as an associate pastor at  Christian Life International Church for eleven years when health issues forced me to resign that position and spend some nine months at home to restore my breathing issues.
By God’s providence and grace I was raised back to a full recovery and led to Faith Temple in Giles county in 2010.  It is here that God has mandated us to become a church leading people to realize, reflect, and thrive in the fullness of Christ for an overcoming life.
We prayerfully ask for, and seek to find by the Holy Spirit’s direction, all those people who belong at Faith Temple.  In His love we invite you to come and see if He would have you join our Faith Temple family to grow in Christ and spread the Gospel.
